Styling with Justina Blakeney Part I

11 abr 2013

The course I told you about in another post is coming to an end. Almost 2 weeks that have flown by and so much fun. A course that definitely I'd recommend you if you are interested in Interior Design and styling. I've learnt so much and it opened up my creativity. In our group there are tons of lovely, inspiring people and the teacher, the talented Justina Blakeney, infected us with her enthusiasm.

The first day we studied the 8 Principles to interior styling and with all that in mind we should restyle 5 areas from our home: coffee table, sofa, console, bookshelves and bed. As we just moved into this new house less than 3 months ago almost everything needs to be done and there are still million things to buy. Moreover our budget is minimum...

I show you some "before" pictures. We bought the sofa and the armchairs when we moved in and although I love them the space needs color and texture everywhere. I have a few cushions but the simply don't work together at all.

I die for an amazing kilim or a Moroccan Boucherouite, but in the meantime i just can dream...

As you see the first thing I did was to change the layout. I like how the sofa looks with the curtain behind it is only that now I think we need some more pattern there, ha ha.

I'll tell you more next week. Btw any idea of where can I get nice cushions in Madrid? I can not find anything interesting! Maybe the only solution to get something special is Internet.

I'd love to know what do you think of the space so your comments are more than welcome!
